About Us

Welcome to Burns Beef! I’m Melissa Burns, and my partner in crime is Ron Burns. Together, along with our two energetic boys, Grayson and Griffin, we call a cozy little grain farm home.
Here at our farm, we’re all about variety. From corn and beans to wheat and hay, we’ve got a little bit of everything growing. But that’s not all! We also raise Angus beef cattle, which you can find gracing the fields and eventually making their way to your dinner table.
Now, a bit about me: Agriculture has been in my blood since day one. I practically grew up in the barnyard, tending to calves and soaking up the farm life. Even now, I’m still passionate about it. That’s why I’ve been a proud 4-H advisor for over a decade, spreading the love for all things farming.
So, how did we end up selling meat at the market? Well, it all started about six years back when our neighbor roped me into helping out at the local farmers’ market. I was instantly hooked! There’s something incredibly rewarding about educating folks on the joys of buying locally and supporting our community. And let me tell you, farmers definitely stick together.
Why Burns Beef, you ask? It’s simple: this is a family affair through and through. From hand-picking the best steers to forming close relationships with our butcher, we put our heart and soul into every aspect of the business. When you buy from us, you’re not just getting meat; you’re joining our extended family.
You might even catch our boys pitching in during the week or at the markets. We believe in teaching them the value of hard work and the importance of connecting with others.
So, whether you’re a longtime supporter or just curious about farm life, know that our doors are always open. Swing by for a visit anytime and see firsthand where your food comes from.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being a part of this dream. Your support means the world to us.
